I lost 20 kgs (44lbs) a few years ago by counting calories (or kilojoules as we use in Australia). I did need to exercise as well.
The thing people have to know is that it&#039;s a lifestyle change. Even when you get to your goal weight, it is still useful to carry that kilojoule-knowledge with you. I still exercise daily, but eat a bit more. I still stick to low-kilojoule healthy foods and balance them out with some higher kilojoule foods I enjoy. It truly is about moderation.
But I have to say, the first three months are very hard. Persevere - you will get through and you will love yourself. Soon you leanr to LOVE healthy food and exercise - no joke. If I ever eat anything deep fried now I feel the oil in my pores. It&#039;s gross! But I do like chocolate, and even when dieting I could fit a daily Freddo Frog or low fat hot chocolate in. Just don;t keep a block in the fridge as it&#039;s too tempting. Also, I have never looked back on giving up butter, sugar and milk in coffee, bacon, and donuts!
